CERTIFICATIONS
CARB 2 Compliant
The CARB 2 certification (Composite Panel Association – Phase 2) is an emissions standard created by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to regulate the amount of formaldehyde emitted by plywood panels, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and particle board used in the manufacturing of furniture and other wood products. The CARB 2 certification ensures that the products meet the established emission limits and are safe for indoor use. This certification is an indication that the products comply with quality and public health safety standards.
Lacey Act Complaint
The Lacey Act Compliant certification refers to compliance with the Lacey Act, a wildlife and plant conservation law passed in the United States in 1900. This law focuses on preventing the illegal trade of plant and animal species, as well as the illegal logging of wood. The Lacey Act Compliant certification verifies that wood products and other forest products do not come from illegal sources or have been obtained in a manner harmful to the environment. This certification is important to ensure that products are sourced sustainably and legally, helping to protect forests and biodiversity, and preventing exploitation of workers in the forestry sector.
CE Marking
The CE marking is a mandatory mark applied to certain products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). This mark indicates that the product meets the safety, health, and environmental protection standards established by the European Union (EU). The CE marking is a certification applied to a wide range of products, from industrial machinery to electronics and toys. Products with the CE marking can be marketed and sold throughout the EEA without additional restrictions. The goal of the CE marking is to ensure that products marketed within the EEA are safe and comply with the quality and environmental standards set by the EU, helping to protect consumer health and safety as well as the environment.
Committed to the Environment
We are committed to the environment and sustainability. We strive to offer high-quality products that are environmentally friendly and certified by leading industry standards. We aim to be leaders in the wood flooring industry, not only in terms of quality and design but also in sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)
The SFI program is a North American initiative that covers forest management, fiber sourcing, and chain of custody. SFI works with the forestry sector, brand owners, conservation groups, resource professionals, landowners, educators, local communities, indigenous peoples, governments, and universities.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC runs a global forest certification system with two key components: Forest Management and Chain of Custody. This system allows consumers to identify, purchase, and use wood and forest products sourced from well-managed forests. The FSC logo is used to indicate that products are certified under the FSC system. When you see the FSC logo on a product, it means the wood, paper, or other forest products come from responsible and controlled sources.
Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC)
PEFC is the world’s most widely recognized forest certification system on a global scale. As a non-profit, non-governmental organization, it works to ensure sustainable forestry with a local perspective that generates benefits for everyone. PEFC provides foresters, landowners, and forest managers—ranging from small to large properties—a tool to demonstrate their responsible practices, while helping consumers and businesses choose sustainably sourced forest products.
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
The LEED rating system is a set of standards for the construction and operation of sustainable buildings. The LEED system helps developers and building owners meet sustainability requirements set by various organizations and governments worldwide. The system offers a range of credits to help buildings meet sustainability criteria, focusing on areas like energy efficiency, water management, indoor air quality, and the use of sustainable materials and resources.
Made in Canada
The “Made in Canada” certification is a mark of origin applied to products manufactured in Canada. This certification indicates that the products have been produced, either entirely or in part, in Canada and comply with Canadian quality and safety standards. The “Made in Canada” certification is important for consumers who want to support the local economy and national production, as well as for producers who wish to promote their products as Canadian and high-quality. This certification can be applied to a wide range of products, from food to textiles and industrial goods.
INSTALLATION PROCESS
Engineered Wood Floor Installation Process
Engineered wood floors can be installed in various ways, but the floating method is the most common. This method involves connecting the floor panels together rather than fixing them to the subfloor. An underlayment layer can be used as a base for the floor panels.
Solid Wood Floor Installation Process
1. Prepare the Area
The area where the floor will be installed should be clean and level. Any existing flooring should be removed, and the surface must be prepared.
2. Install the Moisture Barrier
A moisture barrier must be installed to protect the floor from moisture.
3. Install the Subfloor
The subfloor should be installed before installing the solid wood floor.
4. Install the Solid Wood Floor
The solid wood floor is installed using tongue and groove planks. Expansion gaps should be left around the perimeter of the room to allow the wood to expand and contract with changes in humidity and temperature.
5. Sanding and Finishing
After installation, the floor should be sanded and finished. Sanding helps level the surface and eliminate imperfections, while the finish protects the floor and gives it a lasting shine.
Cumaru Deck Installation Process
The Cumaru deck is fixed to a structure made of stainless steel profiles using galvanized screws. Then, it is nailed to hide the screws, leaving the wood with a clean appearance, and finished with an oil application.
SPC Floor Installation Process
1. Prepare the Surface
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and level before installing SPC floors.
2. Cut the Panels
Use a saw to cut the panels to size.
3. Place the Panels
Place the panels in their correct position, ensuring they are aligned properly.
4. Install the Trim
Install the trim to give the floor a clean finish.
LVT Floor Installation Process
1. Prepare the Surface
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and level before installing LVT floors.
2. Cut the Panels
Use a saw to cut the panels to size.
3. Adhesive
Apply adhesive to the surface.
4. Place the Panels
Place the panels in position, making sure they are correctly aligned.
5. Install the Trim
Install the trim to give the floor a clean finish.
Woven Vinyl Floor Installation Process
1. Prepare the Surface
The surface should be smooth, clean, and dry. Any old adhesive or paint residue should be removed, and the surface should be leveled if necessary.
2. Measure and Cut the Floors
Measure the room dimensions and cut the vinyl floors to the correct size.
3. Adhere the Floors
For self-adhesive floors, remove the protective paper and stick the floors in place. For roll or tile floors, apply the special adhesive and position the floors correctly.
4. Finish the Edges
Place baseboards or trim to cover the edges of the room and give it an aesthetic finish.
